2007 Toyota 4Runner Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Steering Angle Sensor on 2007 Toyota 4Runner?
A: The repair process starts with following the directives of Restraint Systems Service Precautions. Start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal while positioning the vehicle front wheels in a straight direction. Begin by removing the lower part of the Steering Wheel Cover No.3 then proceed to remove the lower part of Cover No.2 until the Horn Button Assembly with the Steering Wheel Assembly are detached. The service procedure starts with removal of the Steering Column Cover UPR followed by taking out the Spiral Cable Sub-Assembly and Turn Signal Switch Assembly until finally reaching the point when the Steering Sensor requires disconnection of its connector followed by claw removal. To mount the system start with the Steering Sensor and connector and afterward install the Turn Signal Switch Assembly. Check the Spiral Cable Sub-Assembly while verifying the front wheel orientation remains correct before its installation. The system needs the Steering Column Cover UPR along with the Steering Wheel Assembly and Horn Button Assembly and both Steering Wheel Covers Lower No.2 and No.3. Review the SRS warning light along with conducting both Steering Angle Sensor zero point calibration and checking VSC Sensor Signal BC.
