2007 Toyota 4Runner Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and install the rear spoiler on 2007 Toyota 4Runner?
A: You need to remove two grommets and two bolts before detaching the spoiler and disconnecting the center stop light connector. Disassemble the center stop light assembly through the removal of two bolts. A drill with a tip below 4 mm diameter (0.16 inches) needs taping to a 5 mm (0.2 inch) length to avoid deep drilling when performing the rear spoiler clip No.1 removal. The rivet removal requires inserting the drill tip onto the rivet to sever both flanges followed by extracting the rivet whilst taking caution with the potentially hot rivet material. Move on to remove the 2 spoiler clips which are located at the back door panel. Install the two exterior rear spoiler clips No.1 to the back door panel by striking 4 mm diameter waterproof rivets into the body panel using an air riveter or hand riveter along with a nose piece. The rivet position should be perpendicular to prevent mandrel bending. Secure the center stop light assembly through its 2 mounting bolts and torques them to reach 2.5 N.m (25 kgf.cm, 22 in.lbf). The last step involves connecting the center stop light connector followed by installing the spoiler through its 2 bolts and 2 grommets while torquing them to 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf).
