2007 Scion tC A/C Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to use the A/C Switch to control the Heater Control Assembly on 2007 Scion tC?
A: The first step to install or replace the Heater Control Assembly requires disconnecting the negative terminal cable from the battery then waiting 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. First detach the 9 claws from the instrument cluster finish panel assembly before removing the shift lever knob sub-assembly for manual transaxle and the console panel upper front. The heater control needs to be maintained in closed position while you detach its connector and separate the heater control mechanism. You need to first connect the connector before attaching nine claws to reassemble the instrument cluster finish panel. Then complete the process by installing the console panel upper front and shift lever knob sub-assembly for manual transaxle. The initialization procedure is necessary following cable connection to the negative battery terminal since some systems need initialization after cable removal and reinstallation.
