2006 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the fuel injectors on 2006 Toyota Tundra?
A: The first step for fuel injector maintenance requires fuel leakage prevention along with engine coolant drainage before proceeding. Start by removing the V-bank cover together with the air cleaner and the intake air surge tank. Service Fuel pipe No.1 through three steps: unsecure the clamp, press the tube connector and weed out the fuel pipe while checking the connector area for dirt and abstaining from tool use entirely. Spare the fuel pipe from damage by applying a plastic bag as protection. The identical steps must be followed when working on fuel pipe No.2. Move forward with the removal of the delivery pipe by detaching the six injectors through their connectors and unscrewing the six bolts at a pace that prevents the injectors from falling. Users should take out the fuel delivery pipe's six fuel injectors together with their O-ring and injector vibration insulator components. To install these components use newly bought insulators on each fuel injector followed by applying a thin layer of spindle oil or gasoline to the new O-ring before installing them onto their respective injectors. To install the injector into the delivery pipe you should insert it while turning it until the connector points outward. Repeat for the remaining injectors. Put the fuel delivery pipe with all six injectors onto the intake manifold yet secure the bolts only temporarily to confirm smooth injector movement before replacing any defective O-ring. The six fuel injector connectors need to be connected after tightening all bolts to 15 Nm (153 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf). Follow these steps to connect fuel pipe No.2 by inserting the tube connector until it clicks but always check for damages or foreign objects before placing the fuel pipe clamp. Repeat for fuel pipe No.1. The last steps involve placing the intake air surge tank followed by air cleaner installation. The V-bank cover should be added and engine coolant must be poured in while inspecting for fuel leakage.
