2006 Toyota Sienna Drive Shaft Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to reassemble the Drive Shaft assembly on 2006 Toyota Sienna?
A: The reassembly of 4WD propeller shaft assembly demands users to place the front center support bearing assembly No.1 on the intermediate shaft followed by a fresh washer before confirming correct bearing orientation. The matching marks on both the front flange and shaft should align before placing the flange on top of the shaft. Install the front center support bearing assembly No.1 (front) in position by using Special Service Tool: 09330-00021(s) to hold the front flange while pressing the center support bearing assembly No.1 (front) into place through a new plate washer and nut which should be tightened to a torque of 181 Nm (1,850 kg-cm, 134 ft. lbs.). Secure the nut once more to 69 Nm (700 kg-cm, 51 ft. lbs.) after initial loosening before applying stake marks with a chisel hammered onto the nut. To install the center support bearing assembly No.1 (rear), place it on the shaft with a new washer positioned correctly according to the orientation standards. Place the flange after aligning the markups between the shaft and the rear flange while using Special Service Tool: 09330-00021(s), tighten to 181 Nm (1,850 kg-cm, 134 ft. lbs.), loosen then re-tighten to 69 Nm (700 kg-cm, 51 ft. lbs.) for staking the nut. The intermediate shaft installation requires proper alignment of matchmarks between the rear propeller shaft and intermediate shaft assembly. Installation should consist of two washers and six bolts which need a 6 mm hexagon wrench to loosely tighten them. Check that the propeller shaft matchmarks are properly aligned before validating that the joint directions are correct.
