2006 Toyota Prius Yaw Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the Yaw Sensor on 2006 Toyota Prius?
A: Start service on the Yaw Rate Sensor by removing successive assemblies including upper console panel sub-assembly, console box pocket, console box carpet and rear console box sub-assembly. Begin by disconnecting the connector followed by removing the sensor through the procedure of unfastening its 2 bolts. Place the sensor into position before tightening it with the 2 bolts at 19 N.m (194 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) torque level and reconnect the sensor connector. The process of reassembly begins with attaching the rear console box sub-assembly and then adding the console box carpet followed by the console box pocket and concluding with the upper console panel sub-assembly. Completion of Yaw Rate Sensor zero point calibration must follow installation procedures and a diagnostic test must be executed to check and clear the DTC.
