A service procedure for the navigation antenna begins by disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable for at least 90 seconds to avoid activating Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners. Begin service of the navigation antenna by taking out the instrument panel followed by removal of the instrument panel sub-assembly. Unscrew the 2 screws from the navigation antenna assembly while detaching its 3 clamps. Installation begins with attaching the 2 screws to the navigation antenna assembly then reinstalling the 3 clamps prior to placing back the instrument panel sub-assembly. You must reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal to execute initialization following the cable detachment because some systems need this step when disconnecting and reconnecting the cable.
