How to remove and replace the LIFTGATE LIFT SUPPORT ASSEMBLY LH on 2006 Toyota Matrix?

A screwdriver with taped-tip should be used to remove the stay clip attached to the stay up side of the BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY LH. First remove the stay clip from the stay lower side but stabilize the back door with your hand before taking out the back door stay along with its stay bracket and the two bolts. Installation requires you to attach the stay bracket with two bolts achieving 7.0 N.m torque (71 kgf.cm or 62 in.lbf). After which you must install the stay with its two stay clips. Adirect repeat of this procedure exists on the RH side of the vehicle.
