    A: A proper inspection of both connector connections and accessory installations must occur as the first step for repairing the starter motor. Service and repair of the starter motor begins with uniting to remove the battery tray then starter assembly. First disconnect the starter connector [A] followed by opening the terminal cap to remove the nut that disconnects the starter wire [B]. Finally remove the two bolts that secure the starter [C]. Install the starter assembly by placing it into position then bolt it in with the torques set at 37 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf). Install the starter wire by attaching it with the nut and torque the fastener to 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) before reconnecting [C]. To install the battery setup replace the tray before placing the battery. After that, fasten the clamp at 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf) torque. Complete this step by attaching cables to terminals at 3.5 N.m (36 kgf.cm, 31 in.lbf) torque.
