• Q: How to remove and install windshield glass on 2006 Scion xB?

  A: Disconnecting the battery cable is essential to stop Air Bag and seat belt security features before working on the windshield glass. You should first lower the front section of the roof headlining assembly without taking it out completely. Then remove the front door opening trim Weather Strip LH and RH, front pillar garnish LH and RH, visor assembly LH and RH, assist grip sub-assembly, visor holder LH and RH, room No. 1 light assembly, and roof headlining assembly. Take out the inner rear view mirror assembly along with front wiper arm caps and arms plus the cowl ventilator louvers from both sides. You also need to remove the hood to cowl top seal and outer windshield moulding after cutting them off with a knife. Use protective tape on the car's surface before inserting a piano wire between glass and body ties and then cutting the adhesive carefully near the edges. Finally, reinstall the cowl top ventilator louver LH and RH, hood to cowl top seal, front wiper arms LH and RH, front wiper arm head cap, roof headlining assembly, visor holder LH and RH, visor assembly LH and RH, front pillar garnish LH and RH, room No. 1 light assembly, assist grip sub-assembly, front door opening trim Weather Strip LH and RH, and inner rear view mirror assembly, then conduct a leak test and seal any leaks with auto glass sealer before reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
