How to service and repair the ignition switch on 2006 Scion xA?

In order to fix the ignition switch, disconnect negative battery terminal and wait 90 seconds. Take off steering column cover and break connectors. Unscrew the bolt to take out the switch. Install the ignition switch again, install the column, and reconnect the battery, with systems being initiated afterwards.
