How to service the cigarette lighter on 2006 Scion xA?

In order to service the cigarette lighter, disconnecting the negative battery terminal and waiting 90 seconds is necessary. Take off instrument cluster panels, ash receptacle and cigarette lighter cover. To remove the lighter part, detach and then reattach making sure you align and push the lighter part in. Reconnect all the parts and reconnect the battery part, and initialize where necessary.
