How to service and repair the water pump on 2006 Scion tC?

In order to service the water pump, unplug negative battery terminal and empty coolant. Take away what is needed and then take off the water pump. Wipe down surfaces, use seal packing and place the pump back with the correct amount of torque. Pull parts back together, add coolant, reconnect battery, check leaks and initialize where necessary.
