2006 Scion tC Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the Auxiliary Cigarette Lighter on 2006 Scion tC?
A: Start service of the Cigarette Lighter by detaching the negative battery terminal cable first then waiting 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The service begins with removal of the shift lever knob sub-assembly for manual transaxle and it continues with front console panel upper and the rear console panel sub-assembly upper and finally the rear console box sub-assembly. To remove the power point socket assembly first turn the socket until the claw separates from between the socket and power point socket cover before pulling out the socket from its position. Date the installation of the new power point socket assembly by sliding it into the notched area of the power point socket cover before securely pushing it in. Reinstall the assembly of rear console box followed by rear console panel sub-assembly upper, front console panel upper and shift lever knob sub-assembly. After reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal users need to complete initialization since several systems need this maneuver when disconnecting and reconnecting the cable.
