2005 Toyota Solara Control Arm Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the FRONT CONTROL ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.1 LH on 2005 Toyota Solara?
A: The first step to change the FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.1 LH is to eliminate the ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE. Users must remove both the transverse engine mounting insulator and its three mounting nuts from an A/T TRANSAXLE. Start by removing the 3 nuts and the transverse engine mounting insulator in the M/T TRANSAXLE before disconnecting its 4 bolts with bracket. The installation process begins with taking off two front-side bolts and a rear-side bolt and nut on the FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER NO. 1 LH. Then separate the assembly from the front lower arm bush stopper. A proper installation of the front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No. 1 LH requires users to first attach the front lower arm bush stopper before securing the 2 front-side bolts at 200 Nm (2,040 kgf-cm, 148 ft. lbs.) and afterward torquing the rear-side bolt and nut to 206 Nm (2,100 kgf-cm, 152 ft. lbs.). The A/T TRANSAXLE requires installation of the transverse engine mounting insulator with 3 nuts that need torquing to 87 Nm (887 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.). Enclosing the transverse engine mounting insulator via 3 nuts requiring a torque of 87 Nm (887 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.) completes this installation. The bracket installation on the manual transmission requires 4 bolts which need to be torqued to 64 Nm (653 kgf-cm, 47 ft. lbs.). The last step is to mount the ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE.
