2005 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the exhaust pipe assembly on 2005 Toyota Sienna?
A: Starting the exhaust pipe assembly service process on a 4WD vehicle requires the removal of the floor carpet cover center LH. The procedure for Bank 2 Sensor 2 heated oxygen sensor service requires users to disconnect its connector and remove the wire harness clamp before sensor extraction. Take the same steps for the heated oxygen sensor of Bank 1 Sensor 2 while disconnecting the connector followed by grommet and wire harness clamp removal before removing the sensor for the next step. Detach the exhaust pipe assembly tail after removing its 2 bolts and freeing the tail and gasket from the 4 exhaust pipe supports. The installation of the exhaust pipe assembly center begins by detaching two bolts and two nuts from the supports before removing both the assembly center and the accompanying two gaskets from the two pipes. Remove the exhaust pipe assembly front through the procedure of removing 2 nuts and both front pipe and gasket. The exhaust pipe assembly front requires the installation of a new gasket combined with the front pipe through 2 nuts which should be tightened to 62 Nm (632 kgf-cm, 46 ft. lbs.). The center assembly requires installation with new gaskets and the center pipe should be mounted to the 2 supports while torquing the 2 bolts to 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft. lbs.) and torquing the 2 new nuts to 62 Nm (632 kgf-cm, 46 ft. lbs.). Install the exhaust pipe assembly tail by using new gasket and tighten the 2 bolts to 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft. lbs.). Reinstall the heated oxygen sensor while torquing it to 44 Nm (450 kgf-cm, 33 ft. lbs.) and perform exhaust gas leak checks before reinstalling the floor carpet cover center LH.
