2005 Toyota Sequoia Clock Spring Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you service and repair the Clock Spring Assembly / Spiral Cable on 2005 Toyota Sequoia?
A: First service all Air Bag Systems when working on the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring. Remove the cable connecting to the negative terminal of the battery then wait for 90 seconds to prevent accidental Air Bag deployment. Disassemble steering wheel pad, steering wheel, and lower steering column cover before proceeding with clock spring removal. When installing the product check that the steering wheel pad remains intact and avoid any damage; in the event of damage purchase a new pad. Users must install the clock spring first before adding the lower steering column cover and steering wheel and finally installing the steering wheel pad. Reinstall the cable to the negative battery terminal before doing system initialization because certain systems need this step after disconnection. The last step involves checking the SRS warning light for correct operation.
