Before servicing or repairing the PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION (PNP) SWITCH it is necessary to disconnect its connector. The process begins with removing the park/neutral position switch that requires prying off the lock washer before nut removal and after which you can extract the bolt and switch from the system. Set the park/neutral position switch together with its bolt then tighten it to 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 10 ft. lbs.). Insufficient torque a new lock washer with the nut to 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 inch lbs.), before securing the nut with bent lock washer claws. Complete the process by readjusting the park/neutral position switch together with connector installation.
