2005 Toyota RAV4 ABS Control Module Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the ABS Control Module on 2005 Toyota RAV4?
A: Service of the ABS actuator requires disconnection of the 6 brake lines using Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 while tightening to 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). The power steering fluid reservoir with bracket should be disconnected from the body using 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 70 in. lbs) torque for removing the 2 bolts. You must first disconnect the connector before taking out the 3 bolts attaching the ABS actuator assembly using 19 Nm (195 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.) torque. Next workers must detach the actuator from the actuator bracket by removing 2 nuts using a torque of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in. lbs.) after removing 2 cushion bolts and 3 cushions. The installation consists of following the removal procedures in reverse order and post-installation requires filling the brake reservoir with fluid followed by bleeding the system with leak checks.
