2004 Toyota RAV4 ABS Control Module Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the ABS Control Module on 2004 Toyota RAV4?
A: Users should start Hydraulic Control Assembly for Antilock Brakes repair work by using Special Service Tool: 09023-00100 to disconnect the 6 brake lines from the ABS actuator while tightening each line to 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). The power steering fluid reservoir now requires the removal of its 2 bolts along with the bracket from the body and should be torqued to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 70 in. lbs.). Disconnect the ABS actuator assembly connector followed by removing its 3 bolts with 19 Nm torque (195 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.). Remove the actuator from the actuator bracket by taking out the two nuts while applying a torque of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in. lbs.). The following step involves the removal of the two cushion bolts and three cushions. The installer should follow the removal steps in reverse order and after installation they should fill the brake reservoir with fluid before conducting a brake system bleed test for leaks.
