How to replace the Air Bag Sensor Rear LH on 2005 Toyota Matrix?

The replacement of Air Bag Sensor Rear LH begins by observing Air Bag system service precautions for safety before starting. Before starting the replacement procedure disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for at least 90 seconds. Proceed with removal of the rear door scuff plate LH as well as the rear door opening trim LH followed by the rear seat back hinge cover and rear seat back hinge sub-assembly LH and finally the rear seat assembly LH and the rear seat side garnish LH. First disconnect the connector attached to the Air Bag sensor rear LH then remove the nut and sensor. Follow this procedure while installing the new Air Bag sensor rear LH by leaving the ignition switch off and disjoining the battery negative terminal for 90 seconds. Use a 9.0 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf) torque value to install the sensor with its attached nut. Replace the sensor whenever it demonstrates physical damages or if it has encountered a fall. The SRS wires must avoid contact with other parts and stay free from pinching conditions. Complete the mounting assessment of the sensor before reattaching the sensor connector and reinstalling the rear seat side garnish LH followed by the other listed components.
