How to replace the Side Air Bag Sensor Assy RH on 2004 Toyota Matrix?

A proper replacement of the Side Air Bag Sensor Assy RH starts with safety measures that include disconnecting the battery negative terminal. Disassemble the front door scuff plate RH followed by the rear door scuff plate RH while separating the front door opening trim RH, rear door opening trim RH and center pillar garnish lower RH. Start the replacement of the Side Air Bag Sensor Assy RH after separating the front seat outer belt assy RH and disconnecting its connector before unfastening the 2 nuts. After inspecting the side Air Bag sensor assy RH install the new component by fastening it using the 2 nuts to 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) torque then connect the side Air Bag sensor connector. Check for defects in the sensor assembly before installation and test the connector when it is placed with the sensor assembly. Before finalizing the installation check that SRS wiring stays free from confinement between parts while completion checks show that the sensor assembly shows no signs of motion. Reinstall the front seat outer belt assembly on the right-hand side with upper and lower bolts reaching torques of 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf) and 41 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf). Conduct an inspection of the SRS warning light as the last step.
