• Q: How to replace the fuel injector on 2005 Toyota Highlander?

  A: Preventing fuel spills should be the initial step for replacing the fuel injector. First remove the air cleaner cap together with the air cleaner hose then unmount engine cover sub-assy No.1. During this process disconnect the fuel tube sub-assy followed by removing the fuel delivery pipe which contains the injector while taking all necessary precautions to prevent injector drops. First remove ventilation hose No.2 before disconnecting the four injector connectors to finally take off the delivery pipe clamps and wire harnesses. The removal of both delivery pipe bolts allows extraction of the 4 injectors and delivery pipe whereafter the cylinder head spacers must be removed. The following operation involves extractor removal of the delivery pipe's four injectors for eliminating the fuel injector assembly.
