- Q: How to replace the rear wiper motor assembly on 2005 Scion xA?A: The procedure starts with back door trim board assembly removal to unveil the rear wiper arm. Subsequently, remove the wiper arm by unscrewing the nut and taking away the 2 claws. Disconnection of the connector should precede 3 bolt removal to extract the rear wiper motor assembly. The new rear wiper motor assembly needs to be positioned before tightening the 3 bolts to 5.5 Nm (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf) torque value with connector reattachment. Install the rear wiper arm only after stopping the windshield wiper motor assembly at automatic stop then remove the serrated section from the wiper arm with a round file before using a wire brush to clean the wiper pivot serration. Install the rear wiper arm after positioning the nut correctly and tighten it to 5.5 Nm (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf) under manual arm hinge restraint. Reinstall the back door trim board assembly.
