2004 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the blower motor on 2004 Toyota Solara?
A: The repair and servicing process of the blower motor begins with the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly removal with passenger air bags followed by heater to foot duct No.1 and stereo component amplifier assembly and finally ECM for 2AZ-FE and 3MZ-FE engines. The blower assembly removal starts with disconnecting connectors then removing the screw while separating the clamp and blower connector holder followed by disconnecting five wire harness clamps. To access the blower assembly remove first the stereo component amplifier assembly clamps for both manual and automatic A/C models before breaking the connectors and scrap the clamp for all assemblies. The removal of clean air filters requires unscrewing the 2 fitting claws until the air filter sub-assembly freely detaches from the front cooler frame. The removal process begins with unclamping Cowl Wire No.2 before you disconnect the Recirculation Damper Servo Sub-Assembly through its 3 screws and Air Inlet Servomotor. Manual models of instrument panel wire No.3 necessitate the removal of two connectors along with three clamps whereas auto models need two connectors with two clamps disassembled. The removal of blower resistors related to manual air conditioning depends on 2 screws while auto air conditioning requires 2 screws off the blower motor control. Unscrew the three screws which secure the blower with fan motor sub-assembly. Fasten the blower assembly by tightening 2 screws along with torquing 2 nuts to 1.5 Nm (15 kgf.cm, 12 in.lbf). To service manual A/C systems, use the clamp to join 4 connectors while the clamp serves 3 connectors for auto A/C vehicles. The stereo component amplifier assembly requires installation of 2 wire harness clamps before proceeding with 5 wire harness clamps and screwing and clamping the blower connector holder to reconnect all connectors. The instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly should be assembled together with the passenger air bag assembly.
