2004 Toyota Sienna Wheel Hub Parts Q&A
Q: How to Replace the Wheel Hub and Bearing Assembly on a Rear Axle on 2004 Toyota Sienna?
A: The first step to replace the Rear Wheel Hub & Bearing ASSY LH (4WD) involves use of Special Service Tool: 09930-00010 to remove the rear wheel and rear axle shaft LH nut. Secure the rear disc brake caliper assy LH by removing its two bolts and tie it up using a string to maintain its safety. The speed sensor rear LH can be separated after unscrewing its bolt but handle it with care to prevent damage to the sensor and avoid attachment of foreign matter. Remove the rear drive shaft assy LH and afterward disconnect the rear wheel hub & bearing assy LH through four bolt removal. Use the new LH hub & bearing assy to install it with the 4 bolts then tighten them to 56 Nm (571 kgf-cm, 41 ft. lbs.). Perform an inspection of the rear drive shaft assy LH backlash as well as the wheel hub deviation before conducting its installation. Reconnect the speed sensor rear LH to its bolt while torquing it to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.). Avoid damaging the sensor and its wiring at all times. Secure the rear disc along with rear disc brake caliper assy LH through a 88 Nm (900 kgf-cm, 65 ft. lbs.) torque set on its two bolts. Secure the rear wheel with the axle shaft LH nut by applying torque of 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). Verify the ABS speed sensor signal for the ABS with EBD & BA & TRAC & VSC system as the last step.
