How to replace the Engine Control Module (ECM) on 2004 Toyota Sienna?

You must start the ECM replacement by taking out the glove compartment door assembly. To replace the ECM you must disconnect five ECM connectors first after which you need to remove two nuts securing the ECM before taking out two screws securing ECM bracket and two screws securing ECM bracket No. 2. Start the installation process by torquing two screws into ECM bracket No. 2 to 3.0 N.m (31 kgf.cm, 27 in.lbf) and then secure the ECM bracket with two screws tightened to 3.0 N.m (31 kgf.cm, 27 in.lbf). Fitting the ECM starts with tight installation of the 2 nuts to 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf) settings and then restoring the 5 ECM connectors. Reset the glove compartment door assembly after completion.
