The regular process to replace an alternator includes disconnecting the wire harness clamp while moving forward to disconnect the generator connector followed by opening the terminal cap to remove the nut and generator wire and loosening bolts A and B before loosening bolt C which reduces V belt No.1 tension for bolts A B and generator removal. Place the generator on the bolts temporarily before adjusting V belt No.1 tension using bolt C and continuing with final bolt torques of 58 Nm (592 kgf.cm, 43 ft.lbf) for bolt A and 18 Nm (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) for bolt B. Follow this procedure by installing the generator wire with its appropriate nut before torquing it to 9.8 Nm (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf). Then reconnect the generator connector and reinstall the wire harness clamp. Finally, inspect the drive belt.
