2004 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Yaw Sensor on 2004 Toyota Prius?
A: Begin by removing the console panel sub-assy upper before proceeding to take out the console box pocket and console box carpet and finally console box assy RR. Initially detach the connector while also removing two bolts which will allow you to extract the yaw rate sensor assy. The new yaw rate sensor needs installation by securing it with two bolts while using torque settings at 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.) before connecting the yaw rate sensor assy connector. The installation process ends with assembling the console box assy RR, console box carpet, console box pocket and console panel sub-assy upper in their proper order. The last step requires both yaw rate sensor zero point calibration and checking and clearing any stored DTCs.
