- Q: How to replace a Wheel Stud on the Rear Axle LH on 2004 Toyota Prius?A: Start replacing the Rear Axle LH Wheel Stud by first removing the rear wheel and brake drum sub-assembly then putting matchmarks on their components. Apply Special Service Tool: 09628-10011 to detach the left-side rear axle wheel stud today. Insert the plate washer into the rear axle hub nut on the left before installing the rear axle wheel stud LH with a 12 mm nut tightened to P1.5 mm. Use a plate washer thick enough at 5 mm or more for proper installation. Put the matchmarks on both brake drum and axle hub before installing the complete rear brake drum section and put the wheel in place with precision torque setting at 103 Nm.
