2004 Toyota Highlander Spoiler Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the rear spoiler on 2004 Toyota Highlander?
A: You need to start by undoing the back window panel trim upper before removing the rear spoiler by removing its 2 bolts and nut. Apply a heat light to raise both the body and rear spoiler temperature between 40 to 60 degrees C (104 to 140 degrees F). Avoid overheating the components. A piano wire with both ends tied to a wooden block will remove adhesive tape when pulling the wire but caution must be taken to avoid damaging the rear spoiler or body unless using a reused spoiler. To install the rear spoiler reuse or piece, heat the body and rear spoiler to 40 to 60 degrees C (104 to 140 degrees F) while avoiding continued heating and take off the adhesive tape from the body. Clean the surface of any remaining stains. You should prepare the reusable rear spoiler for application by warming it to 20 to 30 degrees C (68 to 86 degrees F) while removing tape and cleansing all stains before installing new tape according to illustrations. Use your thumbs to apply consistent pressure to the rear spoiler surface with moderation after heating the body and spoiler while lifting the rear spoiler gently. Then release the release sheet carefully from its coating surface without allowing foreign particles to reach the uncovered area.
