2004 Scion xB Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Front No. 1 Car Speakers Assy on 2004 Scion xB?
A: Your first step to replace the Front No. 1 Speaker Assy requires removal of the Front Door Lower Frame Bracket Garnish LH followed by disconnection of the Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assy and subsequent Front Door Trim Board Sub-Assy LH removal. Use a drill with a diameter of less than 4 mm (0.16 in.) to remove the 3 rivet heads on the Front No. 1 Speaker Assy until the speaker disconnects from the front door panel. The drilling process requires circular movements around each rivet head to cut away the flanges. Drilling should continue while paying attention to heat from the cut rivet to eliminate remaining fragments. A vacuum cleaner will clean away the drilled rivet and interior dust from the front door panel. Attach new strike rivets to the Front No. 1 Speaker Assy on the front door panel by using an air riveter or hand riveter according to the correct order shown in the illustration. You must avoid using the riveter to pry on materials because this can cause damage and you should maintain the riveter level and always keep the rivet attached before tightening up the materials to prevent misalignment. Irreversible installation of the rivet should occur when all materials touch each other. Finally, reconnect the connector.
