    Q:
How to replace the rear Car Speakers assembly on Scion xB? Posted by Customer
    A:
The installation of a new rear speaker assembly begins with eliminating the rear door scuff plates from both sides followed by taking off the rear door opening trims from both sides. Start by removing the back door Weather Strip then take off the spare wheel cover assembly together with the rear seatbelt assembly. The replacement process begins by taking off first the deck trim cover at the rear and then the bench type rear seat back assembly. You should remove the rear speaker assembly after disconnecting its connector and unscrewing its 3 bolts. Put in the new rear speaker assembly as the last step.

    Q:
How to Remove and Install Car Speakers in the Front Door on Scion xB? Posted by Customer
    A:
A mechanic must disconnect the negative battery cable first before removing the front No. 1 speaker assembly on the LH side. At least 90 seconds of waiting time is necessary to prevent Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The first step involves removal of the front door lower frame bracket garnish LH followed by door pull handle then power window regulator master switch assembly and finally front door trim board sub-assembly LH. Using a drill of less than pi 4 mm (0.16 in.) remove the 3 rivet heads from the front No. 1 speaker assembly LH by drilling straight through without causing damage while watching out for hot cut rivets. After drilling disconnect the connector from this assembly. Push out remaining fragments through drilling and vacuum away shavings as well as rivet particles from inside the door by using a vacuum cleaner. Installation of the front No. 1 speaker assembly LH requires an air riveter or hand riveter to embed three new strike rivets into the speaker on the front door panel where each rivet needs correct seating and no gaps should exist between the rivets or between speaker and door panel. The final steps include connecting the front door trim board sub-assembly with the power window regulator master switch assembly, door pull handle, front door lower frame bracket garnish, followed by cable connection to the negative battery terminal.
