The necessary removal steps include taking out the front door scuff plate LH followed by the rear door scuff plate LH and the front door opening trim Weather Strip LH and then the rear door opening trim Weather Strip LH and lastly the center pillar garnish lower LH. Start with removing the nut from the front seat outer belt assy LH before disconnecting the connector to take out both parts. Installation of the new side air bag sensor assy LH takes place only when the ignition switch is off and battery negative terminal is disconnected using a waiting period of at least 90 seconds before commencement. The sensor needs installation by tightening its nut until it reaches 9.0 Nm of torque (92 kgf.cm and 80 in.lbf). A new side air bag sensor should be used when the original version suffers from drops or presents physical defects.
