Impact Sensor, Front Passenger Side

The first step to replace an Air Bag Sensor Front LH requires a review of restraint systems service requirements followed by disconnecting the battery negative terminal. Set up replacement of the front Air Bag right-hand sensor by removing its screws and unclipping the connection point. Start the replacement of a new Air Bag front RH sensor by turning off the ignition switch and unplugging the battery negative terminal. Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting before beginning installation. Fasten the new Air Bag front RH sensor into position through its two bolts while applying torque to 17.5 Nm (178 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf). The sensor needs replacement with a new one when it meets any of these conditions: dropping occurrence or presenting damage through cracks or dents or defects. The SRS wiring needs to be checked for clear space while installation to prevent contact with other components. Check all installation components for looseness after you attach the sensor. Inspection of the SRS warning light must be performed for correct functionality.

Apply a torque of 9.0 Nm (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf).

Remove the front door scuff plate LH, rear door scuff plate LH, front door opening trim weatherstrip LH, rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH, and center pillar garnish lower LH.

It must be replaced.

Use the torx socket wrench (T40) to install the airbag sensor assy center with the 4 torx screws.

Tighten them to a torque of 20 Nm (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf).

Take out the bolt and the inlet.

Observe restraint systems service precautions and disconnect the battery negative terminal.

Take out the 2 bolts and instrument panel mounting bracket, disconnect the airbag sensor connectors, and use a T40 "torx" socket to remove the 4 screws securing the airbag sensor.

Check for any looseness in the installation parts.
