• Q: How to service and repair the Sway Bar Kit on the front on 2003 Toyota MR2 Spyder?

  A: Maintenance of the front sway bar kit requires wheel removal from right or left side before starting while tightening bolts to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). Start disassembling the sway bar links by disconnecting them from their position on the sway bar kit after you remove the nut and apply 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm and 32 ft. lbs.) of torque. Proceed only if the ball joint can turn with the nut. You should use a 5 mm hexagon wrench to stabilize the stud. The nut first followed by sway bar link after which three retainers and two cushions can be removed by tightening to 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft. lbs) before repeating the steps on the opposite side. First remove the sway bar kit through the process of taking out the 2 bolts and bracket and bushing at 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft. lbs.) torques.
