Q: How to remove and install the front Air Bag sensor LH and RH on 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: Owners need to start front Air Bag sensor LH removal by taking out the battery carrier combined with the battery before disconnecting the sensor connector with the assembly in position. Follow instructions by pulling the windshield washer tank opening in the illustration until you can take out the 2 bolts which secure this unit from the front Air Bag sensor LH. To remove the front Air Bag sensor RH disconnect the front Air Bag sensor connector in the same way before removing its 2 bolts and sensor. Install the front Air Bag sensor while orienting its arrow to point forward and tighten it with 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf). Check the sensor torques to its specified value before finishing the installation. When the sensor reveals any cracks or dents you must use a new one. When connecting the sensor connector the electrical connection check must be secured into place to prevent diagnostic system detection of malfunction codes. After linking the front Air Bag sensor connector the battery carrier should be reinstalled and you should inspect the SRS warning light.
