2003 Toyota Avalon Control Arm Parts Q&A
Q: How to disassemble and reassemble the No. 2 lower Control Arm on 2003 Toyota Avalon?
A: Isolate the No. 2 lower suspension arm by starting with 2 lock nut loosening followed by adjusting tube rotation to disassemble its components and completing the process by removing the 2 lock nuts. To rebuild the No. 2 lower suspension arm users must install both lock nuts after adjusting the system using the adjusting tube to properly assemble the arm by maintaining equal lengths between A and B points that have a 3.0 mm (0.118 inch) maximum permitted difference. Adjust the No. 2 lower suspension arm length to 512.3 mm (20.169 inch) by operating the adjusting tube before briefly attaching the 2 lock nuts. Complete the process by tightening the lock nuts to 56 Nm (570 kgf-cm, 41 ft. lbs.).
