You must commence with the remover of the engine under cover assy rear through the removal of its 4 bolts for starter motor servicing operations on the 1GR-FE (FR) engine. Before proceeding move on to manifold stay No. 2 by unscrewing its securing 3 bolts. Start by eliminating the wire harness connection to the cylinder block through removal of the bolt. The first step for starter assembly removal requires disconnecting terminal 50 connector then removing the nut which releases the wire harness from terminal 30 until you can remove the 2 bolts securing the starter assy. Position the starter follow-up assembly then tighten it with two bolts reaching a torque value of 37 Nm (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf). Install terminal 30 wire harness and tighten the nut to 9.8 Nm (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf). Next, connect the starter assy to terminal 50 before putting back the wire harness to the cylinder block and securing the bolt at 13 Nm (133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf). Use manifold stay No. 2 together with its 3 bolts which should be torqued to 40 Nm (408 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf). Lastly, install the engine under cover assembly rear with 4 bolts torqued to 29 Nm (296 kgf.cm, 21 ft.lbf).
