Starting the replacement of Shock Absorber ASSY Rear LH (W/O Reas) requires removal of the rear wheel first. Support the rear axle housing after which you can remove the bolt for separating the shock absorber assembly from the rear axle housing. The maintenance process requires the removal of the nut along with three cushion retainers and cushions No. 1 and No. 2 before proceeding to remove the shock absorber assembly. Compress and extend the rod on the shock absorber to perform an inspection for any unusual resistance or sounds which indicate replacement with a new unit. The installation process starts with attachment of the three cushion retainers, cushion No. 1, cushion No. 2 and the shock absorber assembly followed by screwing in the nut. When discarding the component extend the shock absorber rod while making a hole in the cylinder to drain the gas contents ensuring safe handling of chips and noting the gas exhibits no odor and is non-toxic.
