How to replace the Engine Control Module (ECM) on 2003 Toyota 4Runner?

The process starts with removing instrument panel under cover sub-assy No. 2 and proceeding to glove compartment door sub-assy removal before instrument panel finish panel lower No. 2 can be taken out. The replacement process starts with disconnecting 5 connectors from the ECM before removing 3 mounting nuts and extracting 2 screws from ECM bracke No. 1 and 2 screws from ECM bracket No. 2. Secure the ECM by attaching ECM bracket No. 2 then ECM bracket No. 1 before tightening the 3 nuts to 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf). You should complete the installation by reattaching each of the 5 ECM connectors to their respective places on the ECM.
