2002 Toyota Sequoia Brake Caliper Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Caliper on 2002 Toyota Sequoia?
A: Service and repair of the brake caliper begins with front wheel removal while tightening it to 110 Nm (1,150 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.). The brake line requires Special Service Tool: 09023-00100 to disconnect it while collecting brake fluid in a container with a final torque of 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). First remove the caliper by taking out its 2 mounting bolts which require a torque of 123 Nm (1,250 kgf-cm, 90 ft. lbs.). The installation process begins by taking out the clip along with both pins and spring then moving to the pad removal with its four anti-squeal shims. The reverse order of removal steps must be used for installation purposes while brake fluid reservoir filling and brake system bleeding must occur after the installation is complete with leak-checking procedures included.
