2001 Toyota Sequoia Brake Caliper Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the front brake caliper on 2001 Toyota Sequoia?
A: A proper start to front brake caliper repair and service requires first removing the front wheel while torquing it to 110 Nm (1,150 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.). Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00100 to disconnect the brake line while catching all brake fluid in a container using a torque of 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). The caliper removal process begins by detaching the 2 bolts that must be secured at 123 Nm (1,250 kgf-cm, 90 ft. lbs.). From there, extract the clip accompanied by both pins and anti-rattle spring and continue by removing 2 pads and their associated 4 anti-squeal shims. After finishing the installation reverse the removal procedure and then fill the brake reservoir with brake fluid and conduct a brake system bleed while inspecting for any possible leakage.
