  A: Operation of the fuel injector starts with removing the cylinder head cover. The technician should disconnect the fuel tube from the fuel pipe yet should be cautious about retained pressure in the fuel line to stop fluid from splashing inside the engine compartment. The service and repair of fuel injectors begins with disconnecting 4 injector connectors followed by removing the delivery pipe and its injectors and fuel pipe by taking out 3 bolts. Following removal of the 2 spacers from the cylinder head pull out the 4 injectors from the delivery pipe with the removal of each O-ring and grommet. First install the grommet before putting spindle oil or gasoline on the new O-ring and placing it on each injector along with applying oil to the delivery pipe and O-ring contact area. When turning the injector apply it to the delivery pipes until it is in position then install all 4 injectors while keeping their connectors facing outward. Position the 2 spacers on the cylinder head first and then fit delivery pipe and fuel pipe fitted with their 4 injectors onto the cylinder head while temporarily installing delivery pipe bolts along with fuel pipe bolt. Tighten the delivery pipe bolts to the cylinder head at 19 N.m (194 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) while the fuel pipe bolt requires 9.0 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf).
