  A: Service and repair of the power steering pump starts by taking out the air cleaner assembly and air cleaner hose through the process of disconnecting MAF meter connector and hose clamp removal and the dislodging of three bolts. First untighten the drive belt tension by rotating the drive belt tensioner in a counterclockwise direction before removing the drive belt. To begin pump assembly service you must remove the vacuum hoses by undoing clips then release the return hose by eliminating its detachable clip. The pressure feed tube can be separated after removing the union bolt together with the gasket. Disassemble the PS vane pump assembly by removing its 2 bolts together with the nut and stud bolt. Begin PS vane pump assembly installation using the stud bolt which must reach torque value 22 Nm (220 kgf-cm, 16 ft. lbs.) then move to 2 bolts and nut receiving torque value 44 Nm (450 kgf-cm, 33 ft. lbs.). First, attach the pressure feed tube while making sure the stopper touches the PS vane pump body before adding a new gasket followed by installation of the union bolt with proper torque at 46.5 Nm. Proceed to reconnect both the return hose with its clip along with both vacuum hoses and their respective clips. Reinstall the drive belt after loosening tension and put the air cleaner assembly back with air cleaner hose followed by the 3 bolts while securing the clamp and reconnecting all hoses then connect the MAF meter connector.
