2001 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The Camshaft Position Sensor service begins with the removal of V-bank cover and drain of engine coolant and upper radiator hose disconnection and LH No.3 timing belt cover uninstallation. To begin installation of the camshaft position sensor you must first remove its bolt and stud bolt. Position the camshaft position sensor in its installation location by using the bolt and stud bolt while torquing them to 7.5 N.m (80 kgf.cm and 66 in.lbf). Reinstall the LH No.3 timing belt cover after reconnecting the radiator hose and replacing the V-bank cover onto its position. After the engine coolant addition you need to check for coolant leaks before inspecting the ignition timing.
