2001 Toyota Highlander Control Arm Parts Q&A
Q: How to replace the front control arm sub-assy lower no.1 LH on 2001 Toyota Highlander?
A: The procedure to replace the front suspension arm sub-assy lower no.1 lh starts with the removal of the engine assembly with transaxle then continues with the removal of the transverse engine mounting insulator by uninstalling all 3 nuts from it. Begin by taking out the front suspension arm after you remove all 2 front bolts and 1 bolt combined with 1 nut on the rear side followed by extracting the lower suspension arm and lower suspension arm bushing stopper from the lower suspension arm shaft. Begin installation by inserting the lower suspension arm shaft bushing stopper before you attach the lower suspension arm with 2 front side bolts that receive a torque of 200 Nm (2,040 kgf-cm, 148 ft. lbs.) and the bolt and nut on the rear side which requires 206 Nm (2,100 kgf-cm, 152 ft. lbs.). Complete the installation by mounting the transverse engine mounting insulator through its 3 nuts using 87 Nm (890 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.) torque value before installing the engine assembly with transaxle.
