2001 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Rear Control Arm Assy No.1 LH on 2001 Toyota Highlander?
A: The first step in changing the Rear Suspension Arm Assy No.1 LH requires removal of the rear wheel along with the stabilizer bar rear. The maintenance process requires first disconnecting rear suspension arm No. 1 by beginning with the inner side bolt removal followed by outer side bolt and nut removal from the rear axle carrier while turning the bolt to remove it. Position the paint mark to the rearward when you attach the rear suspension arm No. 1 on its inner side with the bolt before fastening the outer side to the rear axle carrier through the bolt and nut by inserting the bolt from the vehicle's front. Stabilize the suspension before completing the rear suspension arm No.1 LH tightening by fastening both bolts to a torque specification of 100 Nm and continue installing while turning the bolt and fixing the nut. Reinstall the stabilizer bar rear followed by the rear wheel so that you torque the wheel to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) before final rear wheel alignment checking ends the procedure.
