How to replace the Air Bag Sensor Front LH [89174A/98-173] on 2001 Toyota Highlander?

You must first disconnect the battery negative terminal before starting the replacement of Air Bag Sensor Front LH [89174A/98-173]. First disconnect the sensor connector from the front Air Bag sensor LH before removing its two securing bolts. The Air Bag sensor needs an inspection following its removal. You need to disconnect the battery negative terminal for at least 90 seconds when you replace the new front Air Bag sensor LH [89174A/98-173] while the ignition switch remains OFF. Attach the sensor with the two bolts while maintaining torques at 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) before connecting the connector. As the last step perform an inspection of the SRS warning light while testing for excessive installation play.
