    A: The brake caliper repair process starts with the removal of 4 cylinder boot set ring and boot using a screwdriver. The piston removal process requires a wooden plate positioned between the pistons which should include a pad on one side; compressed air will extract the pistons one by one though users should avoid placing their fingers in front of the pistons. The 4 piston seals in the cylinder need removal through screwdriver operation. The pad lining thickness should be measured with a ruler to check whether it falls within specifications of 11.5 mm (0.453 inch) as standard or 1.0 mm (0.039 inch) as minimum. Replace pads that drop below the minimum amount or exhibit uneven wear. Measuring disc thickness with a micrometer should be conducted according to standard 22.0 mm (0.866 inch) with a minimum 20.0 mm (0.787 inch), and the disc needs replacement if thickness falls below minimum or shows signs of scoring or uneven wear. Use a dial indicator to measure disc runout at 10 mm (0.39 inch) from the outside edge; the limit is 0.07 mm (0.0028 inch). The runout threshold requires replacement of the disc or treatment on an "On-Car" brake lathe that ensures front hub bearing specifications remain valid. To modify disc runoutwendung the hub nuts to remove and reinstall the disc with 1/6 rotations beyond its place before tightening the hub nuts to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). After monitoring the new runout results note them before re-running the procedure on all remaining hub placements. You should install the disc where the runout measurement shows its minimum value unless a new minimum occurs after disc replacement. The process of reassembly requires technicians to begin by following the opposite sequence of disassembly then to lubricate indicated components with lithium soap base glycol grease.
