2000 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2000 Toyota Tundra?
A: Service of Clutch Slave Cylinder begins with filling reservoir filler cap and moat removal before pulling brake fluid through a syringe while preventing brake fluid from affecting painted surfaces. The release cylinder needs separation from its clutch line connection using Special Service Tool: 09023-00100 before transferring fluid into a collection container. The release cylinder can be pulled out after removing its two retaining bolts. The disassembly process includes removing the boot with push rod by pulling out the boot before removing the boot from the push rod. Compressed air should be used to extract the piston and spring from the cylinder but users should keep the piston inside a waste cloth to stop it from jumping out and prevent brake fluid from splashing. Remove the bleeder plug. The bleeder plug requires installation with 11 Nm torque (110 kgf-cm or 8 ft. lbs.). The piston needs a lithium soap base glycol grease coating before its installation with the spring into the cylinder. Begin by attaching the push rod to the boot and afterward install the boot with push rod to the cylinder. When installing the release cylinder use two bolts which need 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) torque and connect the clutch line to the release cylinder with Special Service Tool: 09023-00100 while utilizing 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.) torque. The last step requires filling the clutch reservoir with brake fluid while bleeding the clutch system before checking for any potential leaks.
